Nick Brisco - Damn The Possibilities
Starting at: $9.95
The Spirit of this compilation exists from the winter of 97. Earlier that year, Reed had talked me into getting back into the studio to document my music. It begins in Waxahachie, Texas at Chris Claridy's home studio. That winter was very powerful for me; it marked the beginning of my collaboration with Michael Hill on lead guitar. Meeting Michael was very influential in my deciding to play publicly again. Having become reclusive, I was still creating art but not offering it in a communicative medium. After the first recording at Chris's, Steve Chambers (bassist Pluto), Michael and myself recruited Jim King on drums. We became a band. In January of 98 we began our fist recording as a group at Reed's studio in East Dallas. The seven songs that we produced from those sessions are arguably our best. The songwriting, emotion and delivery are simple yet just self-conscious enough to allow a spirit of pure freedom and innocence. In January of 99, after I had spent October in Greece with my family and Christmas in New York, I decided it was time to get back to work. Once again in Reed's studio, from January through March, we cut the twelve songs you are hearing. Spending three months in the studio was a strange process for us, at times it seemed gratuitous but Reed's influence as a producer and the band's ability to work my songs into a single thought once again prevailed. I would like to dedicate this to my band, Steve, Michael and Jim, who for the last three years have been the lightning to my storm, and to anybody who is listening. Your time is more valuable than anything on earth.
Thank You.
