Our Vision...
| The music world is filled with stories of artists who get "discovered " by one of the major labels, sign a record deal and become an overnight success. Some of them actually go on to achieve continued success and have long careers. The problem as we see it is that while the record companies are distracting us with their next big thing we don't see the wreckage left behind for their last big thing. Talented bands are continually used by the major labels for quick financial gain only to be left with little or no support after the initial buzz wears off. For every major long term success story there are dozens of stories of bands who are left only with the empty promises of a fast talking label rep. We believe that the music industry is poised to undergo major changes. Advancements in technology are creating new opportunities. The traditional role of a record label is being rewritten as artists are able to do more for themselves. No longer is a deal with a major label the only way to record and produce an album, get songs on radio stations or tour. Musicians can record, edit, mix and master a record at a fraction of what it would have cost just 10 years ago. Manufacturing processes have become more streamlined and enable artists to run their record in smaller quantities. All of this reduces the initial investment required for an artist to realize the dream of creating their own album. Making an album is certainly easier and cheaper than ever before but getting it sold is another challenge. Less than a decade ago selling tapes & CD's at live shows and a few independent record stores was the only available way for independent artists to sell records. The internet has opened up world wide distribution to anyone with access to a computer. Indie artists can now sell albums anywhere and anytime and they get to keep much of the profit. Where retail outlets, distributors and record companies use to eat up most of the profit from an album sale, the artist now gets much more of that pie...as it should be. While we know that "record deals" will still exist, we believe that the balance will swing in favor of the artist. The major labels are being forced to examine how they do buisness as more and more artists realize that the labels and their old way of doing things offer little. Artists are asking the question "What can you do for me that I can't do for myself?" In many areas the answer is "not much". We see a future where labels earn their money by working for the artist and not the reverse. They will be forced to offer musicians only the services that they need rather than forcing them to sign their lives and their work over to the label machine. Artists will maintain control over how things are done and the label will offer supporting services as needed. It is this Ala Carte approach that we think will give balance to the industry and open new doors for artists everywhere. EuroAmerica Records is the first of what we believe will one day be the typical record label. We are always on the lookout for new talent to sign and provide our entire range of services to. At the same time we offer our services on an individual basis to artists in need of recording & mastering, manufacturing, internet sales, web design, booking & tour support and management. Please see About Us for more information or contact us using one of the methods described here. By providing the highest quality supporting services and building strong working relationships, we believe that we will earn our success by helping artists achieve theirs. |
